Weekly Writing Prompt – 10/31/2021 – 11/07/2021 – ‘In Search of Lost Connections’

Saint Augustine said in his ‘Confessions’, (considered to be one of the earliest examples of autobiography) “What then is time? If no one asks me, I know what it is. If I wish to explain it to him who asks, I do not know.”

And one of the greatest ‘novels’ of all time, Marcel’s Prousts ‘Rememberances of Things Past’, also known as ‘In Search of Lost Time’ is an attempt to recreate entire earlier periods of the author’s life, with scenery of whole towns and living people’s movements through them, with recollecting words.

Today contemplate the gap between what we know, before we are asked to tell it, and what we are able to say, in order to convey to another what we wish to be understood,

communicated.
